This item was posted on the guestbook, but I thought it worthy of an article to ensure more people got the chance to read it
I was born in Rossington in 1930 at Allenby crescent wonder if it is still there Does any one remember the Stanton family I guess it is a long time ago We moved to Bircotes, in Sept 10th 1939 my mammy was involved in a fatal road accident.
Five of her children were sent to homes with no explanation of why we had no mammy I was one of those kids. I have never found out what truly happened years later I found out that my mammy was one of those killed in that accident. Does anyone in Bircotes remember this incident please help me I should be so very grateful for any scrap of info My heart has always been in Bircotes there is no other place on Gods earth life it Does anyone from Bircotes remember the Stanton family who lived at the Crescent in Bircotes.
God bless all I hope there is someone out there with some info

As it is so long ago, may I suggest that you contact the local newspapers maybe Doncaster or Retford they keep back copies, the Doncaster Family History may be able to help also.
Good luck.
