The Green Lane Action Committee is a group dedicated to keeping the community clean and tidy as well as focusing on the safety of local residents.

During a recent Saturday litterpick, the group, who are based within Scawthorpe, collected 12 bags of litter from the area after the local area team alongside Adwick SNT helped the committee with some of the arrangements for the day.

The group are now working towards setting up a luncheon club for residents in the area.

Councillor Cynthia Ransome, Cabinet Member for Communities; Street Scene; Environmental Protection; Waste and Recycling, said: ‘It is dedicated groups like the Green Lane Action Committee who make such a big difference to Doncaster by embracing the spirit of our Love Where You Live campaign and getting actively involved in their local community.’

If you would like advice and support for arranging a litter pick in your community please contact your local council area team on 01302 736000.
