Visual Artist Steve Gormley, also known as ‘VJ Steve G’, delivered a presentation on live visuals in conjunction with music to students at the University Centre Doncaster, recently.

Steve has an impressive track record and performs regularly at some
of the UK’s largest music venues and he has worked with many well
known artists such as Judge Jules and DJ Tiesto.

Steve opened his presentation with a talk about how the visual arts are developing, how anybody can be involved from small bands to video producers, visual effects designers to DJ’s and composers.
He also talked about the hard work and dedication necessary to succeed.

He then gave a demonstration using all the different software and hardware he uses at live music and corporate events.

Steve was most impressed with the facilities at High Melton and went on to say 'It’s really good to see Educational establishments getting so interested in VJ’s and what they can contribute'

The event was well attended by students from the Creative Music Technology and Moving Image Production areas, with a good mix from both higher and further education benefiting from Steve’s knowledge and experience.

Doncaster College and University Centre Doncaster run a host of Visual art and Music courses. Further details are available by calling 0800 358 7575 or by visiting www.don.ac.uk/
