Solarwall of York recently came top of a list of other insulation companies for their work in public relations. At a ceremony at The Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel, near Swindon on 15th December held by the National Insulation Association, Solarwall was given the award by Neil Mason, Chief Executive of the National Insulation Association, for their recent internet and marketing campaigns.

It is the second year in a row that Solarwall has won the award, which is part of a series of awards and recognitions for environmental and energy conscious companies across the UK. Other awards from the evening included Best Customer Service and Most Eco-Friendly Company.

The event was attended by over 250 delegates from the insulation industry, energy suppliers and government policy officers along with a keynote address from Gregory Barker, the Minister for Climate Change.

The award comes just weeks after Solarwall have launched the website of their Energy Centre, a resource centre designed to educate and promote the economic and environmental benefits of renewable technologies to homeowners, businesses and local authorities. The centre, which has been open to the public since May, is located at Solarwall’s head office in Clifton, York. Details of what the centre can offer can be found at www.theenergycentreyork.co.uk.

The site also plays home to The Carbon Counter, an online tool that displays the amount of carbon that Solarwall has saved the UK since the company was founded in 1977. The current figure, which is updated weekly, is equal to the amount of carbon that the entirety of Russia produced in 2007 – over 1.5 million tonnes.
Sue Lamb, Managing Director and founder of Solarwall, said of the award: ‘It is a great achievement for our company to win this award two years running. It shows the commitment and dedication of our marketing department to ensure our company is in the forefront of PR activity’
