There are a number of Opportunity Centres based in a number of neighbourhoods across Doncaster. So whether you are thinking of starting a business, finding a job, changing career or are interested in the training opportunities available, local neighbourhood Opportunity Centres may be able to help you
The friendly reception staff are able to signpost you to the services available which are relevant to your needs and individual appointments can be made with support staff to help you along the way to a better and brighter future.
Working with a number of other partners in Doncaster, local Opportunity Centres aim to help anyone remove any such barriers that may be preventing them from moving forward in their working lives. The Centres act as a ‘one stop shop’ for local residents who may need help in starting a new job, changing career or accessing training opportunities. Similarly, if you are thinking of starting your own business or developing an existing business, advisors will be able to offer advice and support to help make your dreams become reality.
Opportunity Centres provide a range of services and support including:
- Developing and writing a CV
- Job vacancy adverts updated on a daily basis
- Support with finding and applying for jobs
- Advice about attending job interviews
- Free printing and copying for jobsearch-related material
- Free access to computers for job searching
- Access to a range of other information to help people back into work or to start their own business
- Access to a number of partner organisations such as Jobcentre Outreach, Prospects, Dial, Financial Inclusion advisors and Enterprise Advisors
Councillor Cynthia Ransome, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, commented, ‘Each Opportunity Centre is unique. They are individually designed to meet the needs of the local residents in that particular neighbourhood. They are all very much community focused and residents visiting the Centres can take advantage of the services they offer without having to travel very far.’
