The nominees for the prestigious What's On 4 Me 2011 Awards have just been announced - and Hannah Leigh Fisher amongst them!

The What's On 4 Award programmes are now in their fifth year and celebrate the best activities from throughout the UK - both for kids and adults - as nominated and voted for by the UK public.

Zumba Fitness with Hannah Leigh Fisher from Kirk Sandall Doncaster is a nominee in the Most Outstanding Activity Instructor category which means they have received at least 3 nominations and will now go through to the national voting stage!

This year, the awards cover 6 categories from Best Activity Provider to Best Volunteering Group or Individual. Hundreds of nominations have been received so this nomination is a great achievement.

In November 2010 I moved to Doncaster to continue my passion for Dance and Fitness. After completing a dance degree in July 2009 at York St John University. I have been on the dance scene for many years now from performances with local schools to teaching in the community.
I have been concentrating on my new love ZUMBA!!! Its a fantastic way of getting fit, having fun and feeling good about yourself. I get an amazing buzz off each of my classes as the women that take part are just so supportive and have great energy.
Since moving to Doncaster I have successfully raised over £1500 for Behcets Syndrome Society through Charity Zumba Marathons (Zumbathon) and Glow in the Dark sessions. I have another Halloween Glow in the Dark Special coming up on Friday 28th October.
As well as community classes I work with Primary Schools throughout Doncaster working with after school dance clubs. I am currently working with Long Toft Primary for their performance in the Ash Hill Academy Dance Festival around Easter time.
Every school holiday on a Tuesday morning I hold ZumbAtomic sessions (Zumba for children) followed by a street and break dance workshop! The session last 3 hours and they receive a healthy light lunch at the end of the session. So far they have been a great turn out and I hope they continue as I love seeing them excited about coming to see me and take part in the classes plus its a great treat and morning out throughout the holidays.
I am running 9 sessions of Zumba a week throughout Doncaster that are open classes for anyone to turn up and give it a go!

Debbie from Kirk Sandall Class, said: ‘Best fun excercise i've had in years! I love it’
Danielle from Woodlands Class, said: ‘’Not only is it exercise, its fun because you are dancing which is always fun and socialising at the same time’’

Each and every activity, community group, entertainer and volunteer from throughout the UK has had the opportunity to be nominated, thus ensuring these awards are a true representation of views and a reflection of their eagerness to reward the very best!

From 7th September to 7th November 2011, voters can log onto www.whatson4me.co.uk to vote for their favourite from all of the nominees which have qualified.

The winners will be announced on 30th November 2011.

What's On 4 Me owner - Marilyn Bradshaw - adds: ‘I'm so excited about our 2011 Awards! Everyone through to this stage should be very proud that the UK public are so keen to nominate and reward them. We can't wait to see the results of the voting!.’
