Doncaster College has joined forces with People 1st to launch an exciting new training programme that prepares people looking for their first job in the vibrant hospitality industry.

Called the Employment 1st programme, and supported by City & Guilds,
It covers 13 job roles – including chef, barista, travel agent, leisure and theme park attendant and conference/ exhibition manager – and leads to a nationally recognised qualification, the Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in the Hospitality Industry.

People 1st is the sector skills council for hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism.

The programme was launched in the Waterfront Restaurant at Doncaster College’s Hub campus with about fifteen starters signed up for the course.

Simon Kitto from People 1st said,

‘We are really pleased to be working with Doncaster College on the Employment 1st Programme and it’s great to see the students here today, the first bunch of delegates through the programme. I hope this is the first step to get them on the way to a fulfilling career in hospitality. Good luck to everybody on the programme.
