Doncaster played host to a recent successful business exporting event and many local business people flocked to the event held at The Point, Doncaster.

Existing local business owners and those interested in finding out more about the ins and outs of exporting attended the event, which also highlighted the support available from Invest in Doncaster (Doncaster Council’s inward investment and business support team), Doncaster Chamber and UKTI. It also highlighted the opportunities, tools and advice available locally for those considering exporting in the future.

Invest in Doncaster is pleased to say the level of interest in this type of event is becoming increasingly popular and the team will endeavour to do all they can to support exporting activities for local businesses.

Presentations were given by representatives from Robin Hood Airport, Anglo European Express and UK Trade and Investment followed by an informal networking session.

Commenting on the event, Sharlene Rainey from Money Matters said: ‘It was lovely to learn some useful information about Robin Hood Airport which some of my clients may find beneficial. I was unaware of such services and at how cost effective our local airport can be’

The feedback from the event has been fantastic. Everyone really welcomed the opportunity to chat through their ideas, circumstances and concerns about exporting as well as discover the wealth of support and advice available.

Julie Wilson, Head of Business and Commerce for Doncaster Council said: ‘It was good to have a mix of local businesses come together at an event such as this. We recognise the need to offer more collaborative working throughout the borough and will be holding a series of similar events, the next being scheduled for Tuesday 15 May.

The Invest in Doncaster team welcome all businesses to attend their exporting events whether you are considering exporting for the first time, investigating new markets or are currently exporting and would like to share your experience with others.
