On Sunday 25th March, thousands of Rock Choir members are set to entertain the nation, by carrying out UK-wide surprise singing events in aid of Sport Relief.

The surprise sing-ins are set to happen throughout the day in high streets, shopping centres, airports and train stations across the nation, including Meadowhall at Sheffield, the Outlet Shopping Village in Castleford, Leeds, the Ideal Home Show at Earls Court and St Pancras train station.

Shoppers, sightseers and travellers will be treated to the spectacle of hundreds of Rock Choir members performing specially choreographed numbers from their feel good repertoire of pop, Motown, gospel and chart hits. Street collections will be made, with all contributions going to Sport Relief. The money raised by the public will help people living incredibly tough lives, both here in the UK and in some of the world's poorest countries.

Rock Choir is the UK's largest contemporary choir, with over 16,000 members, in 186 towns nationwide. All have been invited to take part, and as well the surprise events, Rock Choir will also be performing at many of the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile events taking place across the country, including London, Glasgow, Cardiff and Manchester. To add to the excitement, as the clock strikes 12.20, members will attempt a UK-wide, synchronised performance of the same song.

Founder and Director Caroline Redman Lusher, is thrilled to be supporting Sport Relief:
‘Rock Choir brings people together in song, and many members have told me what a huge difference this has made to their lives. Friendship and community spirit are a huge part of Rock Choir, and we like to give back as much as we can, by raising money and awareness for charities to help change other people's lives too, so we're delighted to be supporting Sport Relief on this very special day.’
