Tenants and residents in Rossington have a new look community centre.

The Radburn Centre, on Radburn Road, was transformed after tenants said they would like to see it updated during a Neighbourhood Alliance project carried out in the area last July.

Neighbourhood Alliance is led by the police and works in partnership with St. Leger Homes of Doncaster, the fire service, council and other agencies, and works to tackle anti-social behaviour, crime and environmental issues in the area. The project also leaves behind a legacy project for the community to enjoy, in this case, the Radburn Centre received a make over.

The Radburn Centre was repainted inside and out, new seating was provided and new window blinds. A flowerbed outside the building has also been replanted.

Eunice Yates, who runs three bingo sessions a week at the centre, said: ‘The centre is lovely now, especially when the heating is on because it is so cosy. We love holding our bingo sessions here.’

Susan Jordan, chief executive of St Leger Homes of Doncaster, said: ‘I am so pleased that the tenants and residents who use this centre are happy with its make over. I also hope that more tenants and residents will use the centre for community activities.’

Anyone interested in running a community activity at The Radburn Centre should ring St. Leger Homes on 01302 734182 or call into the Rossington office on McConnell Crescent.
