You may have visited in September last year when Gary and Michelle Gee, owners of Doncaster’s Rossington Hall, shared their passion for the grand Victorian stately home they had recently bought by opening the doors for people to see how plans to restore the hall and grounds back to their former opulent glory were coming along.
Well, a lot has changed in 7 months and if you come along again on Sunday 13th May (12noon until 4.00pm) you will see for yourself how the near completion of the first phase of the renovations has produced an amazing transformation.
Set to become one of the region’s top and unique wedding and celebration venues, the hall is being restored to the highest possible standard using luxurious and bespoke furniture, fittings, fabrics, wallpapers and carpets - all in original period designs. The open day is a great opportunity for visitors to see rooms such as the sumptuous drawing room with original oak plank floor, entrance hall with imposing stately staircase flanked by huge marble pillars, oak panelled library, stone portico entrance and huge, ornate panelled ballroom.
You can also stroll around the lovingly restored gardens and see the wonderful changes to the tranquil walled garden, once hidden Italian sunken garden and beautiful rose garden and you walk might be enhanced by the sight of the beautiful ex-racehorses which live in our original Grade 2 listed Victorian stables.
There is a small entrance fee of £2 per person (under 16s free), but all proceeds will go towards ensuring that the restorations continue to the same high standard and we can invite you back in the future. Light refreshments will be available.

The Northern Racing College, which resides on the estate, will also be running its own charity horse and fun dog show during the day, starting from 9.30am.
