Mathew Kay is the owner founder of Pure Bistro, a trendy contemporary café and bistro located in Bawtry’s bustling lower courtyard.
Established less than two years ago, Mathew has developed his concept from a traditional coffee house into a themed dining experience offering a varied range of food and drink, set in a relaxed environment. With 60’s music in the background and black and white images of stars and celebrities of that period, the bistro has created an identity and style of its own.
Many customers take advantage of the outdoor seating in the lovely setting of the courtyard, which lends itself well to a tranquil escape from shopping in the town.
Our customers value our feeling of independence and can expect a personal, attentive service with high quality food whatever the time of day. We work hard to maintain the levels of standards expected by dining in Bawtry.
Mathew wanted to create somewhere that he would enjoy visiting. ‘It’s not enough for me to eat in nice surroundings, I expect a quality service with only the best food prepared fresh on the premises’ said Mathew. ‘But I don’t want to pay the earth’ he added.
The business has been supported by Success Doncaster through offering advice on legal matters, training needs and exploring possible funding options. This has helped Matt to grow the business into its current offer. He has also received support with HR issues and recruitment.
Mathew is an active member of the local Bawtry Retailers Association and is often involved in the town’s events and celebrations. Hover over each picture for a description, or click to load larger image. | Search Villager Archives for similar articles | [Top..] |
