MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival is now in its third year and will take place in Sheffield’s City Hall on 19 – 21 September. It is a festival aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and business growth, and it is anticipated that over 3,000 people will attend from the business world.

For the first time ever, the Yorkshire Enterprise Club (YEC) is playing a leading role and will be providing one of the major speakers at the ‘fringe’ events. David Watkins, a founder member of the YEC, will be presenting his ‘take’ on ‘The Naked Entrepreneur’.

David Watkins commented:

‘This seminar is aimed at small businesses that are looking to develop their aspirations for growth and innovation, but will be particularly relevant to new-starters: people who have yet to put their business ideas into action.

For the past four years the number of businesses in the UK has been reducing by an average of 20,000 a year due to closures and bankruptcies. It is vital for economic survival that we turn this around and encourage more people to start their own business. We can only return to growth if the multitudes of people with great business ideas and the vision and aspiration to make it happen can be encouraged to start the enterprise journey. That’s what the YEC is all about and, through this seminar, we aim to do just that.

‘But as well as encouraging pre-start entrepreneurs to take the first steps, we will also be hoping to provide added inspiration to fledgling businesses in the early months of trading or more established businesses looking to grow.

‘Answers to all the questions every entrepreneur wanted to know but never dared to ask will be uncovered; ideas will be laid bare; they will find the unadorned truth in ‘The Naked Entrepreneur’.’
