Doncaster College is running craft taster sessions at its Stainforth site, the recently renamed Doncaster College East,

The sessions are in dressmaking, vintage wardrobe makeover, ‘stitch and bitch’ and craft textile techniques and run between 10 am and 12 noon and 1pm and 3pm on Monday and Wednesday for the next three weeks.
Ex-cluding half term which is the week beginning 29th Oct.

Each session can be either be an introduction for complete beginners or for those having some basic knowledge then new skills can be developed.

Well-known local textile artist Susan Forbes will run the sessions and Susan will inspire and encourage potential ‘creatives’ to be imaginative and inventive. Her own work inspires and it reflects her love of traditional crafts used in a contempory way and ranges from fine fibre paper to heavy hand rolled felt; from hand dipped plaster garments to sun-print stitched hangings; from felted elfin-like baby bootees to customized costumes.

Potential students will be encouraged to bring their own materials and they can be purchased as the sessions progress so costs will vary depending on finished work.

Hot drinks are provided, but people can bring their own lunch if they want to stay all day also parking and disabled access is available
