Invest in Doncaster played host to another successful business exporting event this week held at the Regent Hotel.

Business owners interested in finding out more on the ins and outs of exporting attended the event, which also highlighted the support available from Invest in Doncaster (Doncaster Council’s inward investment and business support team), and the UKTI opportunities, tools and advice available locally for those considering exporting in the future.

Organisers said that the level of interest in exporting is becoming increasingly popular and the team will endeavour to do all they can to support exporting activities for local businesses.

Carl Samerson of Minds Matter kicked off the event with a presentation designed to show that export potential exists in a range of products and services that may not be immediately obvious.

This was followed by presentations from Gary Winterman of Anglo European about the enhanced capabilities for freight offered at Robin Hood Airport and also DonBAC giving details of their recently launched financial support scheme aimed specifically at exporters.

Feedback from the event has been fantastic with attendees welcoming the opportunity to chat through their ideas, circumstances and concerns about exporting as well as discover the wealth of support and advice available.

Carl Samerson said: ‘I was pleased to talk at this event and would like to thank Invest In Doncaster for the opportunity.

It was only when I attended a similar event earlier this year that I realised the export potential of my service and the support available has been terrific’.

Julie Wilson, Head of Business and Commerce for Doncaster Council said: ‘It was good to have a mix of local businesses come together at our latest export event.

We recognise the need to offer more collaborative working throughout Doncaster and will be holding a series of similar events in the near future.’

The Invest in Doncaster team welcome all businesses to attend this series of exporting events.
Whether you are considering exporting for the first time, investigating new markets or are currently exporting and would like to share your experience with others, the team is on hand to help you.
