Free festive parking is set to make life easier for motorists.
Parking is free in all council operated car parks and at on-street pay and display bays in Doncaster town centre for 100 hours over the Christmas and New Year period.
The move should make it easier for motorists to park and stick to regulations – for example steering clear of loading bays and double yellow lines.
Charges at council operated car parks and at on-street pay and display bays in Doncaster town centre finish at 6pm on Christmas Eve and start again at 8am on Thursday December 27th.
Then charges at council operated car parks and at on-street pay and display bays in Doncaster town centre finish at 6pm on New Year’s Eve at start again at 8am on Wednesday 2nd January.
The dates include sales days – making Doncaster town centre even more attractive to savvy shoppers.
Motorists are also asked to note that the Colonnades underground car park on Duke Street closes at 4pm on two days. It will be open between 8am and 4pm on Christmas Eve and on Monday 31st December.
The multi-storey car park in Mexborough will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Mayor of Doncaster, Peter Davies, said: ‘We want people to enjoy everything Doncaster has to offer over Christmas and New Year and this free parking will help people to do that.’
