Hundreds of prospective students flocked to Doncaster College’s Hub campus recently for the latest open day.

Students came from across Doncaster to sample the College’s £65m waterfront campus and talk to tutors about the courses on offer at The Hub.

One such person was Heather Vann from Intake, Doncaster, who wants to do a Level 2 Bookkeeping course, which starts in September. Heather, who is 31, and currently works in an accounts department, is due to go on maternity leave shortly.

She said, ‘I want to prepare for when I return to work and get a relevant qualification.’ Heather studied Leisure and Tourism a number of years ago as a teenager when the College was based in the Waterdale area of Doncaster and this was her first visit to The Hub which she described ‘as fantastic, a whole new world.’

The Open Day was designed to give attendees, such as Heather, a chance to find out more about the exciting range of full and part-time courses that are available at the College, including Apprenticeships and Vocational Courses.

They were also treated to performances by College music and dance students.

There are courses available to people of all ages, whether unemployed, wanting a change of career, looking at training options or just wanting to try something different.

The next open day will take place on Wednesday 13th March between 3.30pm and 7.00pm. If you would like more information on the courses on offer please check the College’s website www.don.ac.uk or ring 0800 358 7575.
