A big thank you to the Cadeby Community Group, who regularly undertake litterpicks within their local community and work to encourage others to play their part in creating a cleaner Doncaster.

Earlier this month the group collected a huge 30 bags of litter in just two hours! The Sunday morning litterpick around Garden Lane in Cadeby was supported by the council’s North Area Team who provided equipment and safely disposed on the collected rubbish.

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Cynthia Ransome, who is Cabinet Member for Communities; Street Scene; Environmental Protection; Waste and Recycling said: ‘The efforts of the Cadeby Community Group, show that volunteering to make a difference in Doncaster need not be a huge time commitment and can have a big impact.

‘I want to thank them for all their hard work to keep Cadeby clean and tidy and I hope their example will inspire others to do their bit. It is dedicated groups like this who embrace the spirit of our Love Where You Live campaign by getting actively involved in their local community.’

If you would like advice and support for arranging a litter pick in your community please contact your local council area team on 01302 736000.
