Doncaster Council’s Adult Services are reaching out to talk to people about changes to services following the setting of the council’s Budget for 2013/14 financial year.
Three conversation events are being held, as part of adult services’ work to adopt, communicate and listen, which will give people a chance to complete a questionnaire to offer their opinion on the changes and ask questions.
They are being held at Stirling Centre on 8th April 2013, Hayfield Social Education Centre on 10th April 2013, Adwick Social Education Centre on 12th April 2013 and the Mexborough Day Centre on 15th April 2013. All the events start at 5.30pm
People are being asked for their opinions on the changes in service areas including transport services, community care centres, Doncaster Council run day centres and respite services, fees, charges and subsidies.
People can get involved by:
• Completing a simple, confidential, online survey at www.doncaster.gov.uk/asc
• Contacting the council’s Customer Service Centre on 01302 736000, a trained advisor will take down comments over the phone. Lines are open 8.00am to 6.00pm.
• Attending one of the conversation events
• Or, visiting one of our day centres to complete a questionnaire
Doncaster Council Director of Adults and Communities Joan Beck said: ‘The council aims to assure that people are able to enjoy their independence for as long as possible, in their own home. When they need support to achieve this, the aim is that they have as much choice and control over their support arrangements as they wish.
‘The changes are part of our ongoing work to give people more choice and provide the best service possible.
‘This work has never been more important given the significant economic challenges that Doncaster, along with the rest of the country, faces.
‘At the end of the conversation exercise people’s opinions will be used to help ensure a smooth transition.’
The conversation will close at 5.00pm on Friday 19th April 2013. There are no pictures to accompany this article | Search Villager Archives for similar articles | [Top..] |
