The annual Doncaster show will yet again take place at the end of next month and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The free event organised by Lions International follows the fantastic success of last year and will be held over the weekend of 31st August and 1st September (10am – 6pm on Saturday and 10am – 4pm on Sunday) in the grounds of The Deaf Trust on Leger Way, opposite The Racecourse.
Doncaster College is one of the main supporters of the event this year alongside Trax FM and will have a full college offering on hand, for all show visitors to find out about more than 100 courses and all up and coming events at The Hub and University Centre alike over the coming academic year.
Doncaster College staff and students will be at the event in fine form, with bands, fashion shows, a photography exhibition, construction demonstrations, parent and toddler sessions and a number of sports challenges to name but a few activities proposed throughout the weekend.
Stacey Morgan, marketing and promotions officer at Doncaster College said: ‘Last year’s Doncaster Show was the first one that Lions International had organised and it was a fantastic event.
‘2013’s event is set to be bigger and better and that includes the college’s involvement too. We are all very much looking forward to attending again and getting to meet lots of the local community.’
Other organisations already signed up for this year’s event include: The Kennel Club, Air Cadets, Territorial Army, Have a go Archers, Guinea Pig Rescue, Woodville Household Medieval Re-enactment, South Yorkshire Police and the Allotment Association.
There will also be a selection of craft stalls, catering and refreshments, children’s rides and the Trax FM stage offering a selection of entertainment and activities to get involved in.
