A Doncaster party firm is celebrating after clinching a place in the regional final to find the UK’s top children’s party company.

Pink Pixie Parties who are Childrens Entertainment Company firm run by Becky Lane, beat off rivals from hundreds of other local businesses for a place in the competition run by Britain’s largest parenting site Netmums.com.

Becky Lane the founder of Pink Pixie Parties, set up the company in May 2010 as a sole trader. She now employs over six other entertainers to meet demand at kid’s parties, local fetes and carnivals.

But the firm must now battle it out to be crowned the overall Yorkshire-Humberside area winner.

Voting has just opened in the poll on Netmums.com, with more than a million parents and childcarers who are members of the site eligible to take part.

Delighted Becky said: ‘We’re a small local business so to be in with a chance to win a top national award is fantastic. We work hard to provide the best memories for children at their parties, so I’d like to ask all the local mums and dads to get behind us, vote for us and make us the Yorkshire-Humberside winner!’

The national Netmums awards have been dubbed the ‘Parenting Oscars’. They were set up to recognise the best firms in the growing children's party market, which is now worth a whopping £750 million a year in the UK.

Categories include favourite Party Entertainers, Party Suppliers and Venues – with winners in each category being crowned the best in each region. With Pink Pixie Parties being in the Party Entertainers final.

Voting closes on August 23 when the overall winner will be crowned the region’s best children’s party business. To vote simply click on the 'Vote' button on the Netmums Party Awards section. Each person voting is also entered into a draw to win £250 worth of Smyths Toy Store vouchers.

Local Netmums Editor Jane said: ‘Competition is very close with some fantastic local businesses in the running to win. It shows the lengths local parents are willing to go to, to give their kids a great party.’
