Doncaster College celebrated One World Week recently by holding a Tradecraft stall and offering bread from all around the world at its Hub campus
Rod Morrison, Doncaster College Chaplain, who helped organise the event, said.
‘We asked people to share different bread as a sign of companionship and celebrate our diversity, and along with the Fairtrade stall, the idea is to encourage everyone to work together to build a peaceful and sustainable world.’
One World Week is an opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to come together to learn about global justice, to spread that learning and to use it to take action for justice locally and globally.
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.
The Fairtrade Foundation has licensed over 3,000 Fairtrade certified products for sale through retail and catering outlets in the UK.
