Three members of the same family, from Denaby, all mad on computers, have been studying the same course at Doncaster College.

Kerry Summers completed City & Guilds Diploma Level 2 Systems Support Course last year and is currently a volunteer in class and helping husband Jamie and her daughter Andrea finish the course this year.

All three are fascinated by computers, they have one each at home, and everything about them is of interest, from building and diagnosis operating systems to networking and gaming.

Jamie has been using them for over thirty years and has fond memories of the early days of loading up cassettes, which took hours, only for them to crash at the last moment!

Kerry remembers starting out on an Amstrad (when Lord Sugar was just plain Alan) and Andrea, 18, is a chip off the old block and grew up with them all around her playing fun and educational games. She is hooked and says ‘I’m feel I’m part of a computer!’

All three have nothing but praise for their lecturer Steve Roebuck, who said, ‘Its really good to see two generations of the same family in college and doing the same course and showing a real dedication to Computing and a thirst for knowledge’.

Once they have all qualified, the three want to go into business together.
