York’s biggest music event saw the launch of its early bird tickets at the end of November, priced at just £18.50.
The only event of its kind in York, the YO1 festival takes place on bank holiday Sunday, May 4th at the Knavesmire, York Racecourse. Taking a huge leap from its humble beginnings in 2012, last year’s sell out event, saw thousands of festival goers descend on York, to watch the likes of chart topping artists Rudimental and AlunaGeorge.
This year promises to be bigger and better, with the addition of three more music stages, plus new partners to add to the mix including; Flux Music (‘Club Night of the Year 2013’ nominee), York Foodies, The Pig & Pastry and Shambles Kitchen. Keep an eye on Facebook, which is set to announce more partners next month.
Expect even more big name acts, with worldwide artists added to the bill. However Festival Director, John Drysdale, is keeping these top secret.
He said: ‘We’re really excited to be bringing more amazing music to the city in 2014; we are aiming to top last year’s line up and take it a step further. We want to create something the city is proud of and an event that stands out from anything that has happened in the past. We think this year’s line-up takes us a step closer to achieving our goal.’
Line- up announcements commence Jan 17th 2014 via website and Facebook sites.
