Doncaster proved once again it was open for business with hundreds of Businesses descending on Doncaster Racecourse last week to promote their products and services at Doncaster biggest business event, the Business Doncaster Showcase. The one-day event played host to over 1,000 visitors, and over 180 exhibitors, all seeking to raise their profile and meet new customers.
The event, which was part of the hugely successful Business Doncaster Month, was hosted by Business Doncaster and attracted new and established businesses as well as business support organisations, further education providers and professional services firms.
Workshops were held throughout the day provided the exhibitors and visitors with the opportunity to learn how to succeed in business. Furthermore, the showcase featured an array of inspiring speakers including award winning Doncaster Entrepreneur, Tony Sykes, and social media marketing angel, Frederika Roberts.
Speaking of the event, Mayor of Doncaster Ros Jones said: ‘The Business Doncaster Showcase shows what Doncaster Business is all about and has proven to be a fantastic success once again. Walking around and speaking to exhibitors, there was a real buzz to the day and proved that Doncaster is a great place to do business. The event provided an excellent platform to network and meet new business contacts and I hope that many left with new connections and some excellent new leads’.
The Showcase has already generated some great feedback from exhibitors. Elsium Solutions Ltd who exhibited on the day said: ‘The business showcase was a very productive day in terms of networking and exposure to raise our profile’’, Queen’s Road Design centre said: ‘It was the perfect price; the footfall generated was excellent as was the interest with Santander Commercial Banking saying the showcase was a ‘great event, well organised and well attended’.
The Showcase, which is now in its fifth year, has received excellent response from visitors with one attendee saying ‘’ The event was very well organised and professionally run with a wide variety of businesses. There were wonderful diverse stands and the inclusion of businesses and social businesses was fantastic.’
Visitors to the event came from as a far afield as Hull, Leeds and Manchester due to the buzz generated online and via social media with visits to www.businessdoncaster.com doubling over their usual levels in the past 8 weeks, testament to the success of the Showcase and of Doncaster Business Month.
