Family run business Kiran’s is the first of its kind in Doncaster and they are already expanding to bigger premises after only six months of trading. Currently based on Nether Hall Road, the Beauty, Fashion and Wedding business are set to move to Copley Road on 8 March.

Kiran’s was initially aimed at the Asian market but soon found that people from a vast array of cultures were interested in their products and services, something they had not anticipated.

Dali, business owner, has a vast amount of business experience across Yorkshire, owning takeaways in Bradford and Halifax. He said: ‘There are no businesses like this in Doncaster and the response from the Doncaster public has been fantastic.’ Dali began his business venture in Doncaster after marrying his wife Maryam who is a full time teacher in Hatfield and decided to set up the business following their wedding, stating: ‘We spent a huge amount of money on our wedding and wondered how we would recoup some of this.

The business concentrates on three main areas: weddings, fashion and beauty. The wedding accessories section offers venue decorations, cakes and centrepieces. Maryam, however loves fashion and is involved with this part of the business selling handbags, sarees and jewellery. Dali’s business partner Rosemary services the beauty part of the business offering facials, hair styling and manicures. With over 20 years of experience delivering treatments from her home in Doncaster as well as teaching the subject to college students Rosemary offers a very high standard of beauty treatment.

To help with their expansion, Kiran’s attended the Business Showcase, in an attempt to increase their business and spread the word. Dali said: ‘When you enjoy your work and it is a success, it drives you to try new things and that’s why we want to expand. The Business Showcase was a great event and the ideal chance to network.’
