The sounds of Vivaldi echoed across the grounds of High Melton campus recently when University Centre Doncaster played host to the Hull Sinfonietta-Skipton Camerata.
The leading chamber ensemble, featuring soloist Rachael Drury on violin, played Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Gloria, two of the most popular and engaging works in the groups repertoire.
The evening performance, in the Harvey Theatre at High Melton, was preceded by special workshops, in the afternoon, on The Four Seasons, which attracted young, local musicians from the Doncaster area, and music students from The University Centre.
Paul Davies, from the Doncaster Music Education Hub, said, ‘It’s been a terrific opportunity to bring talented young musicians from local schools together with professional musicians of this standard and for all to be involved with the excellent workshops and to be inspired by the quality and energy of their live performances.’
The event was sponsored by University of Hull, Doncaster Music Education Hub in partnership with Doncaster College and University Centre.
