Exciting boat trips on board a traditional working coble to discover Yorkshire’s marine wildlife.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust are offering an exciting opportunity for you to experience Flamborough’s marine life! On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of April from 1:00pm - 2:00pm the Trust’s Living Seas team will be guiding you around the spectacular chalk cliffs of Flamborough Head aboard a traditional working Yorkshire fishing coble, skippered by the fishing family who own it.
On these trips you will enjoy unrivalled views of seabirds such as puffins, kittiwakes, razorbills, guillemots, fulmars and gannets. During the trip a member of the Living Seas team will provide commentary to explain more about why this area is so important for marine wildlife. Each trip will last 45 minutes to an hour and offers an exceptional opportunity to see, hear and even smell the headland's wildlife!
Fisheries and Wildlife Officer Kat Sanders explains; ‘the Living Seas team are delighted to be running our Living Seas Safari boat trips again this year in partnership with the local fishing family that own and skipper the boat’. She also explains that on the trip you will experience; ‘literally thousands of seabirds crammed onto the cliffs’ right above your head!
It is important that before attending you visit the Living Seas Centre itself to make payment and collect your ticket. Please allow enough time to do this so that you are not late for the trip as it’s a 10 minute drive from South Landing to North Landing where you get on the boat. Tickets cost £8 per adult; £4 per child (aged 16 or under - minimum age 4). Book your ticket now to avoid disappointment by calling 01904 659570 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
