The parents of a former soldier have presented a cheque for £5,000 in his memory to Doncaster's Civic Mayor.

Councillor Eddie Dobbs, the Civic Mayor, was presented with the cheque for £5,000 by Ken and Karen Bonsall, in memory of their son Lee.

The couple are committed to raising the profile of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the impact it has on young service personnel, veterans and their families, in memory of their son.
The cheque was made payable to SSAFA, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, who provide Caseworkers who try to support those who are experiencing these difficulties.
Councillor Dobbs has chosen SSAFA as one of his charities during his year in office.

He said: ‘SSAFA is a wonderful charity that provides practical, emotional and financial support to anyone who is serving or has ever served and their families. I am sure Ken and Karen Bonsall's fundraising will help many people.’
