Lisa Kroger, A floristry student at Doncaster College, is really passionate about raising money for Blue Bell Wood; the Children’s Hospice and recently completed her latest escapade to raise money.
Lisa, 41 from Bessacarr, took part in a ‘Jail Bail ‘ event at HM Prison Doncaster, the Category B Prison in Marshgate, Doncaster, which meant she was locked up for a day and allowed to leave when she had raised enough money! She raised about £500 on the day.
She said, ‘Crazy you may feel but I agreed to do it, we had to check in as real prisoners and spend sometime in a cell, we were shown around and it was a great experience.
I am passionate about Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and the support they offer to the patients and their families. I have a young daughter and want to give something back to children who are less fortunate.
I have visited the Hospice on a number of occasions it is easy to see how important Bluebell Wood is to many people. ‘
Lisa has also jumped out of a plane for the same charity and raised £900 and it’s become very much a family affair as her mother has joined in and, at the age of 71 did the parachute jump as well. Lisa’s 11-year old daughter also got in on the act, she was to young to do a jump so she did a bake sale at school and raised £850.
The Level 3 Floristry Student used to work in insurance and sales and left that the area to do something more creative, Lisa really enjoys College and wants to become self employed when the course is over. That’s, of course, if she has time between all her fund raising activities!
