The third BA Doncaster Creativity Awards given to art and design students from Doncaster College and University Centre Doncaster took place recently.

The event took place in the showrooms of BA Components based in Kirk Sandall, near Doncaster and David Caulfield, BA Components Sales & Marketing Director, presented the awards,

120 creative students from the College entered the competition this year including fashion students for the first time.

This years awards went to Chantel Tunstall, UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design student who won 1st Prize and the runner up was Nick Boruk.

Ian Latham, Assistant Director of the School of Creative Industries at the College said, ‘ We are delighted to be working with BA Components and grateful for their sponsorship of the Creativity Awards. This year we are particularly pleased that Chantel Tunstall, from the UAL Level 2 Art & Design Course, won the overall prize as her submission very clearly demonstrated her thoughtfulness and the beginnings of her artistic development. The Awards are judged without regard to Level of study or experience and Chantel shows that everyone has an equal.’

BA components provide a bursary to the College annually and Mr. Caulfield confirmed its continuation for the next academic year.

Mr. Caulfield explained, ‘BA employs almost 200 people from in and around the Doncaster area and it is important to show our commitment to them by getting involved at community level. This bursary to the college combines community interest, encourages growth and development and promotes our belief and commitment to design and marketing. The process has been interesting, challenging but ultimately rewarding for all involved.’
