Hall Cross Academy is celebrating after receiving a Good grade from Ofsted.

Following an inspection in April, the Academy has been judged as Good, after Inspectors were impressed by pupils’ achievements and behaviour, the quality of teaching, the safety of pupils and the school’s leadership and management.

Ofsted said teaching is good at the school with some that is outstanding and that ‘strong working partnerships between staff and students lead to a culture of learning that supports good progress.’

Head Teacher Pippa Dodgshon said: ‘We are delighted to have been judged as a Good School by Ofsted in our recent Inspection.

‘The report contains many positive reflections of our drive and determination to provide the best for all our students.
‘We are so pleased for our students and staff to see recognition for their hard work, so that they can feel pride in being part of this community.
‘We would like to say a big thank you to our parent community for whose loyalty and support we are very grateful; we have never taken it for granted and we hope that they can now share in the pride we all feel.
‘Needless to say we are mindful of the things which we need to do in order to become an outstanding school and will certainly not be letting up on our efforts.’

Cabinet member for Education councillor Nuala Fennelly said: ‘I am very proud of Hall Cross Academy and everyone who works hard to make it a success.
‘It is a fantastic Academy with good communication and partnership working with Doncaster Council. I am especially pleased to hear that the inspectors recognised the strong working partnerships between staff and students.’
