This summer LearnPod, the UK's largest unconference, returns to showcase the latest emerging trends in educational technology for post 16 learning.

This annual event, hosted by Doncaster College in collaboration with the Jisc Regional Support Centre (Yorkshire & Humber), is now open for bookings and has brought together talent and innovation from a variety of organisations to make for a day to remember.

Since its launch in 2010 LearnPod has attracted hundreds of delegates from across the country to The Hub campus in order to network, share and inspire. This summer LearnPod14 will be a full day's event held on Wednesday 16th July with registration from 9.00am for a prompt 10am start. The event will run until 4pm and offer lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Simon England, Web and Social Media Designer at Doncaster College explains, ‘This year we are excited to yet again host the LearnPod event at The Hub, alongside the Jisc Regional Support Centre. Every year it attracts individuals from right across the UK and we expect this year to be even bigger and better than ever.
‘This year we are looking to theme the event around employability and use the event to discuss and promote the use of technology and online tools in increasing the employability of young individuals.

‘What’s special about LearnPod is that the agenda is actually set by the guests, who pitch ideas to share their expertise, or source the knowledge of others to answer their questions. Some pitch interactive workshops whilst others pitch presentations, discussions and forums. It is not compulsory for delegates to do a presentation, but much can be gained from participation and those who do pitch their ideas can be sure that their individual interests are met.’

Scott Hibberson, e-Learning Advisor from the Jisc Regional Support Centre adds: ‘I've been lucky enough to help out with LearnPod over the past five years and it always proves to be an enjoyable and popular event.’

‘As this year’s theme will focus around employability we particularly welcome contributions around how technology and social media can be exploited to improve the career aspirations of learners. Finding that ideal job is more challenging than ever and LearnPod14 strives to stimulate plenty of ideas that will empower learners with the digital savvy needed to gain a crucial edge in today’s competitive job market.’
