Students involved in the two year research project; VOLARE (Volunteering Actions for the Reinsertion into Education) have celebrated their success with a graduation ceremony following the completion of the first phase of the project.
The Graduation ceremony took place at Doncaster College’s Waterfront restaurant where students, staff and members from charitable organisations came together to present the well-deserved awards.
The collection of students from different parts of the world, have been hands on in making a difference in communities throughout Doncaster and Sheffield, demonstrating the value of volunteering. Their action packed week included a tour of the College’s Hub campus, a visit to the Sea Cadets, as well as making some amazing changes to Sheffield’s Richmond Park, which is now ready to make way for a new children’s playground.
The project displays the potential of volunteering actions, as a learning process, strengthening skills and aiding towards the students personal and social development.
Next stop for the group is a trip to Poland, with a trip to Italy next year. The project will end with a trip to the initiation partner, Gijon in Spain.
