Entry Level Childcare students have been working with children at Doncaster College’s Waterbabies nursery to produce artwork that is forever preserved in the form of a tea towel.
Children either drew a portrait of themselves or were helped by students to draw round their hands. The drawings were then sent to a fundraising company and produced into the tea towels which are now ready for parents to enjoy.
Barbara Baines, tutor for Entry Level 1 Childcare who co-ordinated the project said that, ‘It was nice to see the students really enjoying working with the children, and it gave them an insight into working within a nursery environment’.
Assistant Director for Childcare, Tina Harrison arranged the project as a great opportunity for entry level students as they would not normally experience a work placement until they progress on to Level 1.
The tea towels are available to purchase for £2.50 from the Waterbabies nursery at the Hub campus.
