Doncaster Council is encouraging people to take part in a new campaign this summer to help kids move more.

Through the 10 Minute Shake Up campaign, Change4Life and Disney aim to get children across the country moving for an extra 100 million minutes this summer.

Those who sign up for 10 Minute Shake Up will receive a free pack (while stocks last) containing inspiration, ideas and tools to help children on their way to achieving their recommended 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per day.

Packs include a stopwatch for timing 10 minutes of activity, a wall chart, reward stickers and 10 Minute Shake Up Disney character activity cards.

There will also be a load of great content online to keep children inspired over the summer.

Dr Tony Baxter, Doncaster Council Director of Public Health, said: ‘Ensuring that children get their recommended 60 minutes of daily exercise is important, but it can be hard to keep them interested.

‘Breaking it down into 10 minute bursts of fun keeps kids engaged - sign up for your activity pack for some free inspiration today.’

Those wanting to sign up should search Change4Life online and register. Or pick up a leaflet at locations throughout the borough including libraries and Doncaster Council’s Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster.
