The third Early Childhood Research Conference took place at University Centre Doncaster, within the picturesque High Melton campus in July.

The event celebrated and showcased the work of outstanding students who have successfully completed their BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree with University Centre Doncaster.

It was an energetic conference with some excellent presentations of current research in Early Years Education which welcomed attendance from the Executive and Senior Management teams within the College and University Centre. Along with the lecturing staff, local employers, students and their families.

The highlights of the conference included; ‘The Impact of the Two Year Early Education Offer on a Looked After Child’, ‘The Use of ICT in Improving Literacy Skills in School’ and ‘The Influence of Children's Attachment to their Primary Carer on their Social Interaction and Learning’.

Janine Ryan, Programme Leader and conference organiser commented ‘The research this year was outstanding and students selected very relevant topics at the forefront of sector developments. I was delighted to share student achievements with staff, employers, their families and friends. Events like these help to build the Community of Practice which has developed in Early Years, bringing together employers, academics and students through sharing information that builds understanding and insight.’
