Hello
I am emailing to give you some brief details, which may be of interest to your readers, about the annual Longbow Archery Tournament that the Wakefield Archers are holding at Pontefract Castle, all day on Saturday 3rd September. The tournament, known as the Pomfret 60, is one of only two such tournaments in the UK that are held in historic castle grounds, the other being at Edinburgh Castle, and it has been held for many years, attracting Longbow men and women from all over the UK. Visitors to Pontefract Castle on the day are able to watch the archers compete, which is quite a spectacle, and we also run an archery ‘Have a Go’ stand which always proves to be very popular.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any further details.
