On Monday 4th June, regal Ripley Castle will play host to the 29th Yorkshire Classic Car & Bike Show plus Land Rover Display. Set in the park of the charming Castle and featuring over 400 classic cars, Land Rovers and motorcycles, this widely recognised event is just one of 12 shows held at different locations throughout the country.
At the ever popular event, there will be displays from many classic car clubs, plus a large 4 x 4 display with lots of Land Rovers, motorcycles, commercials, trade stands and a 4 x 4 spares autojumble for anyone trying to hunt down a rare or obsolete part, or simply looking for a bargain. Also, there will be parades, running commentaries, judging of the classes, competitions and prizes throughout the day – perfect for a family outing!
Owned by the Ingilby family, who in 2009 celebrated 700 years, Ripley Castle has a long and fascinating history and is the ideal setting for classic car events, with organiser Mark Woodward saying, ‘Most of our events are held in the grounds of historic buildings, which provide the perfect backdrop for these vehicles from a time gone by. Ripley Castle is no exception and I am positive that this year will be just as popular.’
The Show will be held on Monday 4th June 10am - 4pm. Adult tickets are £6.50, children £3, this includes entry onto the showfield, park, tearoom and castle gardens (there is a small fee for a guided indoor castle tour). Ripley Castle is just 2 ½ miles north of Harrogate, off the A61 between Ripon and Harrogate. Well behaved dogs kept on leads are welcome in the park.
