Doncaster College’s Floristry department is being sponsored by Country Baskets, the UK’s largest wholesalers of floral supplies.

Kerry Marr, Assistant Director of Land Based Studies at the College, said,
‘This has brought about fantastic learning opportunities for our learners to observe professionals and celebrities in the world of work and this has opened up a whole host of experiences for our learners. Their resident consultant designer, Jonathan Moseley came to the College, recently to demonstrate his considerable floristry skills to our learners, showing off cutting edge design while demonstrating commercial viability.’

The Floristry department promotes to its students a culture centred on employability, social interpersonal skills, commercial viability, passion, enthusiasm, as well as good floristry skills and Jonathan highlighted this throughout his demonstration.

Country Baskets are also offering excellent work experience opportunities to the departments learners ranging from florist to marketing, business and retailing opportunities.

Kerry added, ‘We are delighted to be working with a professional company that is at the forefront of the floristry industry.’
