Doncaster College takes the safety and wellbeing of its students extremely seriously and over the last few weeks has been hosting a variety of events to promote the awareness of safety.

Recently the College held Anti Bullying week, which had a range of activities, designed to make students think about their behaviour towards others, to raise awareness of what students should do if they are being bullied and to make them aware that support is always available.
The College also promoted Push the Button, a confidential service for all learners who have concerns about bullying or who are being bullied.

This was followed by Stay Safe Week.
The aim of this week was to highlight the importance of staying safe in the community and to promote personal safety and awareness of a wide variety of issues.
This year, there were workshops, discussions, activities covering safe driving, personal safety, sexual exploitation, domestic violence awareness workshops and much more.

A scenario of how a car crash incident is dealt with by the emergency services was realistically staged, and included scenes dealing with the crash victim in A&E. enacted by real doctors and nurses.

Also a 'Guns and Knives Take Lives' talk and presentation in the drama hall, was particularly graphic, thought provoking and hard hitting.

Other activities included the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue ‘Subaru’ driving simulator, a chip fire demonstration and knife arch demonstration.
