This January the Spurn Lighthouse on the Holderness coastline, will be transformed into a cinematic spectacle as filmmaker and Spurn Artist in Residence Gavin Repton premieres his documentary about Spurn.
The documentary features interviews and never-before seen footage of Spurn. There will be three screenings: Friday 18th January at 6pm and Saturday 19th January at 12 noon and 6pm.
Spurn Heritage Officer Harry Watkins said: ‘The screenings will be shown inside the lighthouse, making for an unusual and atmospheric experience for all visitors. The Yorkshire Film Archive has also provided films of Spurn from the 1950s, 60s and 70s which will be screened for the first time!’
For a sneak preview of the new documentary you can watch the trailer on Youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyJxercI9Kk and follow Gavin’s progress on www.spurnair.com.
Seats for the films are free, but are limited and need to be booked in advance – please email harry.watkins@ywt.org.uk or call 01964 650313 to confirm your seat or if you have any questions regarding access. There will be hot drinks, refreshments and some heating, although it would be advisable to wear warm clothes just in case.
