Fourteen Artists have been selected as Fellows in the Doncaster College – New Fringe Fellowships, part of the continuing collaboration between the College and the local Arts Group.

The artists will be granted access to facilities in Visual Arts to work on projects designed to expand their practice and give an insight into the professional life of artists to the students.

This year’s artists include Adam Ogden, whose exhibition ‘The Long and the Short of It’ is currently on display the College’s White Gallery, who will work on a large project for the developing sculpture trail at High Melton.

Other selected artists include ceramicists, painters, printmakers and photographers.

The 2014 fellows will stage an introductory exhibition at the White Gallery from Friday 23rd May until Friday 4th July.
Ian Latham, Assistant Director of the School of Creative Industries at the College, said ‘The Annual New Fringe fellows provide students on our courses at all levels with contact with practising artists at various stages of their careers, helping to raise their aspirations by demonstrating that you can achieve success as an artist in Doncaster.’

The New Fringe is a loose collective of artists, both professional and amateur, and people passionate about art based in the Doncaster area and further afield.
It aims to promote the work of its members and to encourage participation in and appreciation of art in all its forms.
